Profile

"Students, who attend Three Cedars Waldorf School will in a balanced manner, think clearly, feel deeply and impart purpose to their own lives."

This is the Mission of Three Cedars Waldorf School, which strives to achieve this by offering Waldorf education to students K-8 and preschool children from age 3 and a half.

Originally founded in 1993, the school is located a mile from dowtown Bellevue in the Wilburton neighborhood on a peaceful campus, which includes a substantial "Back Woods" that is actively and gloriously utilized in all weathers by the students.

The curriculum, which is based on the educational philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, emphasizes the 'whole' child and concentrates on developmental appropriateness. It includes form drawing, eurythmy (a form of movement set to express music or speech), gardening, handwork, drama, archery, music, strings, woodwork, practical arts, Spanish and Japanese in addition to a core, classical academic curriculum. But beyond the conventional education offered, the school also fosters a sense of community and an emphasis on healthy socialization through its many all school celebratory, seasonal and cultural festivals.

Three Cedars is coeducational and non-denominational and consciously operates a generous Tuition Level Adjustment program in order to promote a wide range of socio-economic diversity in the student and family population. It is the school's mission to provide Waldorf education to as many families as desire it for their children regardless of race, color, national or ethnic origin, class, gender, sexual orientation, family structure, or, to the extent school resources permit, their ability to pay.

School tours are offered by appointment on Thursday mornings throughout the year and parents may request a Welcome Packet of information from the School Office at 425 401 9874 or info@threecedars.org.
