Association Complaint Procedure

By the nature of its purpose, PNAIS does not intervene on behalf of any individual in matters between a school and that individual nor does the Association consider anonymous complaints. PNAIS serves its schools by assisting them with their own improvement through a rigorous accreditation process. Since independent schools are entities that govern themselves, accredited schools are expected to have processes for addressing concerns.

If an individual brings a concern to the PNAIS Executive Director prior to utilizing the school’s procedures for addressing concerns, the Executive Director will direct the individual to utilize the school’s process for addressing concerns. If the concern rises to the level where it might impact the school’s accreditation status, the Executive Director will contact the school’s Head and discuss the concern. The Executive Director will emphasize that the Association is not intervening on behalf of the individual, but rather helping the school maintain compliance with the Association’s standards.
